Steve Fox is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management
Accountant with over 30 years international tax experience.Prior to starting his own practice, he was an
International Tax Director at BDO Seidman, Deloitte and Grant Thornton, and a
member of the national transfer pricing teams of all three firms.Steve has advised multinational mid market through
Fortune 100 clients in a wide array of industries on most U.S. international and
foreign tax issues.His clients have
included AT&T, Lucent, TransTechnology, Dialogic, Carbone Lorraine, Konica,
Steelcase, Interface Flooring, Brighton-Best, Liz Claiborne, Pullman, and
others.
Steve has developed numerous international tax ideas, including ones to avoid
section 956, allow DISC benefits for widely held C corporations, make U.S. tax
optional for foreign banks, and others.He has advised clients on international structuring, foreign tax credit
issues, intercompany pricing, Subpart F, international assignees, and inbound
issues. Steve has successfully defended clients against U.S., UK, Canadian, and
German tax authorities on transfer pricing and numerous other issues.He has managed numerous FIN 48 and tax
provision projects for public clients.
Steve is a frequent lecturer with professional tax organizations, and has
authored articles appearing in Journal of
Taxation, Journal of International Taxation, and other publications. He is author of the tax text and reference work Income Tax in the USA now in its third, 2014 edition. As an
Adjunct Professor of Taxation at Fairleigh Dickinson University, he developed and
taught the four course international tax program. Steve holds an MS Acc. and BBA from
University of Houston.
